When seeing double isn’t such a bad thing…
Chances are when you find one double yolk in a carton, there will be more waiting. That’s because we pack our eggs by weight and farm, and if a farm has a younger flock, then the likelihood of producing double yolks is increased because younger hens are still learning how to lay eggs. These eggs likely end up in our jumbo cartons because of their size and weight.
We’ve had numerous customers find multiple double yolks in their jumbo cartons, some of them even finding a dozen double yolks in one carton! Is it good luck? We like to think so. Granted it’s always good fortune to find double yolks there is always a good explanation. Let us know if you happen to find a multiple double yolks in your carton!
